Similijhara Waterfall is a serene and picturesque natural attraction located in the Nayagarh district of Odisha, India. Nestled amidst lush green forests and rocky terrain, it is a perfect destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.

The waterfall is situated near the village of Similijhara, approximately 30 kilometers from Nayagarh town and 108 KM from Bhubaneswar.

The waterfall is known for its multi-tiered cascades and crystal-clear water. It flows amidst rocky outcrops, creating natural pools that are great for dipping or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.

We started from Bhubaneswar around 2PM a team of 6 person. The ride via the Ranpur town and the rural area is really good. We reached the location by sundown. The small lake with mountain in the backdrop is mesmerizing.

Once we cross the small Simili Village and reached the fall, it was evening. And the surround is so surreal with deep green forest covered mountain all around.

With no one around after the sundown, it is remote, quiet and nice place to camp. The Simili Tribal village is just 500m away. In the night the cold wind through the mountain passes makes the camping spot cold and pleasant. On a clear night you can see the Milky Way. The moon that day is like a big flashlight.

We cooked our food, lots of snacks and campfire along with good music. It was night to cherish. The food came out very well. After a sumptuous meal we went for a walk in the jungle with flashlights. The sounds of creepers and animals make it more interesting. Add to it the sound of waterfall is like meditation music in itself.

After the walk and after star gazing, we went to bed early, in preparation for the hike to the top of Khallikote Range in the morning.
